Craig came highly recommended to me by friends, who were delighted with the work he had done on their home, which was also a heritage building. Craig was involved with my project since 2008, and he was involved from pre-purchase inspection of this very old but still liveable home, through the various repair jobs that were inevitable in an unrenovated older house over the years, all the way through to the decision to renovate.
I can therefore say that I have worked with Craig for a period of 4 years. I can sincerely recommend him on the following basis:
Craig is a skilled carpenter in his own right. His finish and attention to detail is second to none. This was important, as this project required an almost complete rebuild, but with respect to the Federation skirtings, architraves, doors, and windows etc. Also the fitting of cabinetry and wardrobes was impeccable
Craig has a great team of tradesmen, plumbers, painters, electricians, solid plasterers and other specialists. He also recruits additional trades for the job as needed. With these people, I found his organisation brilliant, efficient and the prices he negotiated for me were good, and the quality excellent. He really pulls the project together.
When things did not go as planned, Craig is able to help navigate through the problems. We had plenty of unforeseen events and issues arising with the old building and neighbours taking exception to five months of construction going on next door. Craig handled all this with great patience and endurance, working through each issue methodically to a successful conclusion.
Craig is knowledgeable about options and methods to achieve an outcome on an old building. He knows the regulations and works with the regulator effectively.
Craig has provided follow up service and been obliging and helpful on an ongoing basis. He is very fair and considerate and is a great building professional with whom to work. I recommend him highly.
